BLUE VALENTINES

Blue Valentines first performed Tom Waits' "Blue Valentines" album on February 14th, 2003 at The Echo Lounge, Atlanta, GA. The idea of a Tom Waits tribute band came from several veterans of both Atlanta's live music and theatre scenes.

Rallying around the amazing voice of Aileen Loy, Blue Valentines developed a reputation as a hard-hitting, powerful act with a looseness and theatrical sensitivity that they hoped would make Tom proud if he ever found out they were trying to make money off his good name.

Through a bizarre sort of kismet/power of will/destiny, the band is reconvening in Europe for a summer tour. May 16th at Alchemy, will mark the first performance of the band in over a year, and the first performance of the band in Europe.
