Open Mic Guidelines

Think of this page as a compilation of ideas that may guide us all towards the unknown. Here are some up-to-date rules about our open mic as well as some ancient wisdom of master alchemist, that seems surprisingly apt for today.

Open Mic Guidelines:

  • We welcome readings and performances of all sorts. Performers have a maximum
of 7 minutes stage time, but limited to 2 songs, 3 original poems or 1 story
    or performance piece.

We encourage you to bring recent works or works in Prague-ress. Alchemy is a
forum for trying out material and fostering new works. Do not bring your
well worn "classics" or the last piece you work-shopped in your university
creative writing class. Show us what you're working on now.

Sign up: The open mic sign up takes place from 7:30 to 8pm, before the
    featured performer.

Open mic begins approximately at 8.45pm and runs until 10.45pm. Don't worry,
if you sign up too late to get on stage we'll put you on the top of the list
    for next month.

  4. He should have patience, diligence and perseverance.

  5. He should perform according to fixed rules.

  6. He should use only vessels of glass or glazed earthenware.

  7. He should be sufficiently rich to bear the expenses of his art.

  8. He should avoid having anything to do with princes and noblemen.
